These Half Moon Bay engagements took place in one of the most stunning destinations along the California coast. The beaches here are the perfect setting for romantic photos and videos. Location
Our couple Olivia and Dallin chose to do an adventure travel session in San Francisco. First, we began their adventure engagement session at Half Moon Bay. The soft sand, gentle waves, and dramatic cliffs made for the perfect backdrop. Afterwards, we headed closer to the water. It was pretty busy at the beach. However, we chose locations that were secluded, allowing the couple to relax and be themselves without any distractions. Traveling for your engagements makes for an unforgettable experience. Liv and Dallin were able to explore the area and make a whole trip out of it!
Outfits
The couple opted to have two outfits: one casual and one dressy. The soft, muted tones of their outfits blended perfectly with the natural surroundings, creating a soft and romantic feel. They saved their casual outfits for the beach and dressy outfits for the cliffside spot.
Posing
We started off by guiding Liv and Dallin through some simple poses, allowing them to get comfortable in front of the camera. Eventually, as they became more relaxed, we began to try different prompts. It’s important to capture a variety of posed and more candid moments of them chasing each other along the beach, holding hands, and having fun.
Lighting
We were lucky to have the most perfect lighting scenarios for this engagement session. First, the famous San Francisco fog covered the sky above the cliffs and made for soft, diffused light. Then, the sun peeked out over the ocean, creating a soft and warm glow that illuminated the sand and made for a perfect beachy look.
